Our policy on school uniform is based on the notion that wearing a school uniform promotes a sense of pride in the school and engenders a sense of community and belonging. We believe our uniform practical, smart and offers affordable options for all families. All uniform items may be bought from any retailer you choose. Whilst we do expect uniform to be in the school colours detailed below, there is no requirement to buy any school branded clothing; although jumpers, cardigans and fleeces embroidered with our logo are available from: Uniform Direct, 54 Victoria St S, Grimsby. School Uniform

Children are expected to wear from a choice of:

  • Navy jumper/cardigan/fleece
  • White/blue polo shirt/shirt/blouse
  • Black/grey trousers
  • Black/grey skirt
  • Black/grey pinafore dress
  • Black/grey/navy/white tights
  • Flat, plain black shoes/trainers

Additionally, in the summer, children may also wear

  • Black/grey short trousers
  • Navy checked gingham dress

We also recommend that your child has a sun hat with them in school at all times for outside play.

 

PE

It is important for children to have a change of clothes for PE lessons. They are expected to wear:

  • White t-shirt/polo shirt
  • Black/navy shorts
  • Plimsolls/trainers

In the winter, for outdoor PE lessons, children may also wear:

  • Black/grey/navy jogging bottoms

 

We cannot stress enough the importance of labelling all items of clothing and footwear, as well as bags and lunch boxes, with your child's name. This will help to avoid unnecessary upset and aid staff and pupils in locating missing items. The school and staff cannot be held responsible for misplaced or lost items.

 

Jewellery

Only plain stud earrings and a watch may be worn in school. No other items of jewellery are permitted. For safety, NO jewellery is to be worn during PE lessons and, as staff are not allowed to assist, children MUST be able to remove their own earrings. If your child cannot remove their own earrings, we recommend that you take them out before they come to school on PE days.

If you would like your child to have earrings, please try to have the piercing done at the start of the summer holiday. This allows for the 6 weeks they will need to retain the 'keeper' earrings in their ears.
